Yeegin Choo

Born on January 28th 2001, spent almost 20 years in China, came to the Netherlands in 2020 to study fine art at the ArtEZ Aki Art Academy.

The constant changes in her living environment caused her to question and pursue her own identity.
When life gradually becomes sterile, illogical, and gradually moves towards chaos and always being control.
She chose to use photography to record the turmoil happening around her, trying to find another balance between chaos and idealized peace.
Her photos are spliced ​​together to form a montage of collaged memories. Influenced by early technology in cinema, her subjects tended to maintain a conceptual distance from the camera rather than break the fourth wall. In her works, the characters present another side of their reality from a "voyeuristic" perspective.
